December 2013--Thanks to Trail Runners Organization
Forget the PR, a volunteer group that organizes trail running events in Mohican, has done it again. Rob Powell, Forget the PR race coordinator, presented the Mohican Trails Club with an early Christmas present--a check for $1,000 to be used for future trail improvement projects. This is one of several generous donations this group has made to MTC over the past 5 years.
Rob's volunteer group organizes and promotes a number of fun races each year on the trails in Mohican State Park. Trail running has become a popular way to experience running in its wildest form while enjoying the fitness it provides and the natural setting that is part of the trail running experience. If you wish to challenge yourself next year and have a great time doing it, information regarding their event can be found by clicking here.
So next time you are hiking one of the many trails and see the trail runners, say hi and give them a big thank you for their generosity. Through the support of groups like Forget the PR, the Mohican Trails Club has been able to construct new bridges, build boardwalks, install the Lyons Falls stairs, open new trails and continue to maintain the trails in the Mohican State Park and Forest.
