Now Available--2021 Revised and Updated Mohican Regional Trail Guide
One of the Mohican Trails Club (MTC) ongoing activities is to update/publish and make available to visitors the Mohican Regional Trail Guide. The Trail Guide is a comprehensive map that includes hiking trails, horseback/bridle trails, canoeing/kayaking water trails and mountain biking trails in the Mohican Region. It also highlights the primary recreational areas in the Mohican Region, including the Mohican Park and Forest, Pleasant Hill lake Park (MWCD), Malabar Farm and the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy/Clearfork Valley Scenic Hiking Trails.
The 2021 revised and updated trail guide is a 21” x 34”, 2-sided publication made of a durable water resistant material. It features a colorful topographic map of Mohican State Park and Forest hiking, mountain bike and bridle trails with each trail type color coded for quick reference. Major Mohican attractions are also highlighted, including visitor’s favorites such as the recently constructed Clearfork River Foot Bridge, the iconic Covered Bridge, the scenic Clear Fork Gorge Overlook and Big & Little Lyon Falls. Primary trailhead locations and parking areas are also shown on the map. The flip side of the map is an aerial view of Mohican State Park and Forest, Malabar Farm State Park and Pleasant Hill Lake Park, including area roads, camping areas and cabins, park offices and facilities. For the winter enthusiasts, hunting zones and snowmobile trails are also listed. In 2021 the guide was enlarged and expanded to include new trails, reroutes of existing trails, historical information about the area trails and the iconic Foot Bridge over the river.
A Mohican Regional Trail Guide can be purchased at the Mohican Park State Park Office, the Malabar Farm Visitor's Center or the Pleasant Hill Lake Park Office for $2.00 each. Or we will provide a complimentary map with every mail-in donation of $10 or more. Donations and map sales are used by MTC to purchase materials for trail improvement projects. New bridges, walkways and the Lyons Falls Stairs Project have been completed by the Mohican Trails Club using funds raised both through donations, grants and assistance from the ODNR, Mohican State Park and Forest agencies.
The cost of layout, artwork and printing of the MTC Trail Map is made possible through generous donations from our Mohican area sponsors. Please click here for a complete list of our sponsors. And please support local businesses when your are in the Mohican area.
